“VAR is destroying football”

 Another ‘VAR (video review) controversy’.

Arsenal took the lead. Arsenal won 1-0 in the away game against Brentford in the 13th round of the English Premier League in the 2023-2024 season held at the G-Tech Community Stadium in London, England on the 26th (Korean time).

Kai Havertz, who settled in Arsenal this season, played his part for the first time in a while. He came on as a substitute in the 34th minute of the second half and scored the 'theatrical winning goal' in the 44th minute of the second half.

Leader Man City drew 1-1 with Liverpool on the 25th and only added one point. Arsenal recorded 30 points and jumped to first place. Manchester City was in second place with 29 points, and Liverpool was in third place with 28 points.

However, Arsenal had some regrets. We were able to take the lead in the first half and run the game comfortably, but it did not become a reality.

Leandro Trosar hit the net at the end of the first half. When Gabriel Jesus' header hit the goalkeeper and flowed to the right, he responded with another header, cutting into the net.

However, after a lengthy VAR, offside was declared and the goal was cancelled. The decision was that Trossard had his feet slightly in front when Jesus headed the ball.

Not only Arsenal fans but also famous British broadcaster Piers Morgan exploded at the harsh decision. Morgan said on social media, 'VAR is ruining soccer again. “I really hate it,” he said angrily.

Fans are also expressing reactions such as ‘VAR blew it again’ and ‘VAR needs to be improved’
