'Dopamine went crazy' Kim Taek-yeon made Jamsil bee crazy.

 'High school rookie' Doosan Kim Taek-yeon thrilled the Jamsil Bee with an impressive pitching performance unlike any rookie in a critical situation.


The 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League match between Doosan Bears and KT Wiz was held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 10th.

In this day's game, Doosan beat KT 7-3 thanks to a batting lineup that hit 14 hits, and enjoyed a pleasant 6-game winning streak.

In the game, the performance of ‘high school rookie’ Taekyeon Kim stood out. Kim Taek-yeon came on the mound in the top of the 7th inning with a 5-3 lead. Kim Taek-yeon, who allowed a hit to KT's leadoff hitter Cho Yong-ho and a double to Hwang Jae-gyun, was in danger of reaching second and third base with no outs.

Worrying for a moment, Kim Taek-yeon roared back in a critical situation by striking out three batters in succession: Park Byeong-ho, Shin Bon-ki, and Oh Yun-seok.


Taek-yeon Kim faced Park Byeong-ho, Shin Bon-ki, and Oh Yun-seok and threw up to 150km fastballs (14) and 130km sliders (1), and the proportion of fastballs was overwhelming.

In a crisis where he could have conceded a run with no outs on second and third base, Kim Taek-yeon showed off his guts by only throwing fastballs instead of running away pitching. He pitched uncharacteristically of a rookie.

Kim Taek-yeon, who finished the inning without allowing any runs in the top of the 7th inning, clenched his fists in celebration and shared his joy with catcher Kim Ki-yeon.

Doosan fans were also enthusiastic. When three batters in a row struck out in the game, cheers erupted from the audience.

Manager Lee Seung-yeop praised Taek-yeon Kim, saying, “Taek-yeon Kim, the future of Doosan, showed amazing courage on the mound,” and “I want to applaud the way he boldly targets the strike zone even when there are runners on base.”

Kim Taek-yeon, who has pitched his best since his professional debut, is emerging as a strong Rookie of the Year candidate.
