Ohtani, Japan's record for most home runs... In 亞, only Choo Shin-soo is above him.

The LA Dodgers won 10-0 against the New York Mets in the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) game held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA on the 22nd (Korean time).

Dodgers' Ohtani started as the designated hitter twice in this game and recorded 2 hits in 3 at-bats (1 home run), 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. Ohtani's season batting average rose to 0.368.

Ohtani hit a slider from Mets pitcher Adrian Houser in the third inning with one out and runners on first base, making a two-run shot to right-center. It was the 5th home run of the season and the 176th home run in the big leagues.

With this home run, Ohtani became the Japanese player with the most home runs in the big league. Until the day before, he was tied with Hideki Matsui with 175 home runs, but now he has moved into first place.

Ohtani, who entered MLB in 2018 after playing in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), is achieving these results while serving as both a pitcher and batter.

Now there is only one Asian player in front of Ohtani. This is Choo Shin-soo (currently SSG Landers). Choo Shin-soo hit 218 home runs in the big league alone. Ohtani looks set to start the race now to overtake him.
