Werner must be in tears.

According to the British Evening Standard on the 5th (Korean time), Son Heung-min expressed his hope that Werner, who is currently a 'loan', will succeed in a complete transfer to Tottenham in this winter transfer market.

Tottenham acquired Werner on loan from RB Leipzig (Germany) on January 10th. The contract period runs until the end of this season and includes a complete transfer option (15 million pounds, approximately KRW 25.4 billion).

Werner is very keen to activate the permanent transfer option. Previously, on the 22nd of last month, Britain's Give Me Sports reported, “Werner wants to stay at Tottenham because he has become accustomed to the new environment.”

‘Captain’ Son Heung-min also wants to accompany Werner longer. The Evening Standard reported, “Son Heung-min wants the club to permanently sign Werner, who is having a positive influence on Tottenham.”

Son Heung-min said, “What is important in the way we approach the game is the positioning of the wingers, and Werner and Brennan Johnson understand each other well and are doing an excellent job.”

He added, “When Werner first came to Tottenham, he said, He said, "I was not confident, but now I am playing comfortably with confidence."

Son Heung-min also said, "Werner is a player who won the Bundesliga Golden Boot (top scorer)," and added, "He will score and assist Tottenham a lot in the future." “I expect to do it,” he added.

Lastly, he said emphatically, “We will have to wait and see what happens when the season ends, but I hope Werner stays at Tottenham.”

Fabricio Romano, who is well versed in the European transfer market, also gave positive news. He said nothing had been decided, but said: “Tottenham are satisfied that Werner is starting to build a (good) relationship with the players both on and off the pitch. “The club is satisfied with him.”

Meanwhile, on the 23rd of last month, the British newspaper The Hard Tackle said, “Werner’s permanent transfer will be decided depending on whether Tottenham advances to the UEFA Champions League next season. “This will put a lot of pressure on Werner (who must do well) for the rest of the season,” the report said.

Tottenham (57 points), with eight games remaining in the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) season, is in 5th place, following Aston Villa (59 points), which has played one more game. Tottenham wants to go one level higher. Depending on the results of the remaining matches, the next Champions League ticket will be awarded to the top four teams.
